How Sustainable is the Current Massification Surge in Asia Pacific?

How Sustainable is the Current Massification_web

In November 2015, The HEAD Foundation was co-sponsor of an international symposium on higher education that brought together scholars, experts and university leaders from the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, mainland China, Taiwan, in Hong Kong.

The international symposium, co-organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd), Lingnan University and the United Board for Christian Higher Education Asia, discussed the sustainability of the massification of higher education in the Asia Pacific.

Among the speakers was Prof Mok Ka Ho, Vice-President of Lingnan University and Fellow at The HEAD Foundation, presented a paper co-authored with Dr Jin Jiang, Postdoctoral Fellow at Lingnan University, that critically examined the impact of the massification of higher education on graduate employment and social mobility.

Forthcoming publications, including a book with The HEAD Foundation’s Routledge Critical Studies in Asian Education Series, will feature papers and presentations given at the symposium.
