The HEAD Foundation hosted a rousing event on Monday evening, the 23rd June 2014, with our esteemed colleague and guest lecturer Professor Simon Tam. Professor Tam received an outstanding response from the near 100 Friends of the Foundation in attendance for his daring to move outside the box of conventional thinking with respect to entrepreneurism and innovation. Through years of case study and fieldwork with top corporations and government enterprises throughout the Pacific Asia region, Professor Tam made a compelling case for how one can systematically develop entrepreneurs and innovators. In the process, he outlined eight routes for innovation:
- Product Innovation;
• Process Innovation;
• Sourcing Innovation;
• Transactional Innovation;
• State Market Symbiosis;
• State Market Divergence;
• Leveraging Market Forces;
• Resources Development and Reconfiguration
Professor Tam promises a return in the near future to delve further into the routes and his latest theory on entrepreneurship and innovation.
