The HEAD Foundation (THF) unveils a new logo and brand identity that will better capture the spirit of its mission to improve the lives of communities in Asia.

Since its incorporation on 8 March 2013, THF’s mission has been to create positive social impact in the region. As a think-tank focusing on issues around human capital, education, leadership and sustainability, THF supports research and social initiatives, and runs capacity-building programmes that help to equip leaders in Southeast Asia with the skills to address constantly-evolving challenges. The Foundation also regularly publishes books, produces research reports and policy briefs, and hosts public events to share knowledge with the community. With an initial emphasis on education, THF’s work in recent years has also expanded to include healthcare and other related areas of need in the region.

THF’s new logo synthesises the Eastern and Western values that form the basis of its philosophy and operations. The letters “H” and “E”, represented in Asian-style calligraphic script, highlight THF’s two key areas of work – Healthcare and Education – and together with the Foundation’s name in bold black text, form a contemporary representation of our mission to contribute to the sustainable development of Asia.

“The HEAD Foundation is moving into its next phase of development, to be a bridge of knowledge and practice between the East and West, focusing on education and healthcare,” said Mr Ho Swee Huat, Chairman of The HEAD Foundation’s Board of Directors. “We want our work to benefit peoples in the region, to help them contribute even more to society.”

THF’s current projects in 2021 include a practice-focused webinar and handbook series designed for educators in the region; the 10th Anniversary issue of THF’s key publication Higher Education in Southeast Asia and Beyond; the edtech self-learning app Sekolah Enuma for school-age children in Indonesia; as well as a multi-centre study of the clinical efficacy of Tuina, in collaboration with the Singapore General Hospital, Mayo Clinic and the Medical School of Jinan University in Guangzhou, China.
