indonesian australian

A delegation from Indonesia’s Ministry of Education and Culture, led by Dr Awaluddin Tjalla, Head of Center of Curriculum and Literatur, and Dr Scott G. Paris, Director of the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), met with Professor S. Gopinathan, Academic Director at The HEAD Foundation to discuss Indonesia’s curriculum.

The meeting discussed recent moves in Indonesia to re-centralise the curriculum, and the challenges faced in effective implementation of the curriculum. Prof Gopi noted that the experiences of the Indonesian teachers were similar to those of Vietnamese teachers who also had to implement a new curriculum. The meeting was informed that THF was finding research into curriculum reform in Vietnam and the findings would be shared with education reform specialists in ACER and Indonesia. THF will be actively planning future projects with ADB, ACER and Indonesian specialists in the near future.
