The HEAD Foundation is pleased to announce its 2018 Request for Proposals (RfP). Through this Request for Proposal, the Foundation is looking to support projects that allow the Foundation to fulfil its mission of contributing to Human Capital & Education for Asian Development. As a non-profit think-tank, one that promotes positive social change in Asia, we are keen to support projects that:
- produce usable knowledge;
- produce scalable and sustainable outcomes and impact;
- involve country-based researchers and institutions; and
- are relevant and applicable to multiple Southeast Asian countries.
For developing countries in Southeast Asia, one of the strongest and clearest strategies to improve the standard of living is effective and efficient investment in education and the development of human capital. The availability and equitable access to quality education is key for Southeast Asian countries caught in the middle-income trap as it is for poorer economies.
Although ensuring access to basic education and raising completion ratios for all groups are necessary, there is a consensus that it is equally important to focus on educational quality for improved social and economic outcomes.
The Foundation currently funds a number of projects supported through previous RfPs. Applicants are encouraged to visit our website for examples of projects that the Foundation supports.
For this year’s call, the Foundation has a particular interest in projects that aim to improve educational outcomes by enhancing leadership and integrating technology. Proposals that focus on other aspects of education and human capital development are welcomed and would be evaluated without bias or prejudice.
